Accessing the Network Nervous System dApp

Getting access to the decentralized application

To access the Network Nervous System dApp, you need an Internet Identity. If you want to create one, have a look at Creating an Internet Identity.

Step-by-step instructions for logging into the NNS dApp

Here’s a walk-through of accessing the decentralized app.

#1 – Go to the NNS dApp

To get started with the official Network Nervous System Dapp, visit nns.ic0.app.

#2 – Log in and authenticate

Click on Login and authenticate with your Internet Identity. Once you’ve clicked Authenticate, authorize authentication by clicking on Proceed.

That’s it! You’re now successfully logged into the dApp.

Functionalities of the NNS dApp

Here’s what you can do with the official NNS dApp:

Manage ICP

Your NNS dApp wallet allows you to receive, send, and store ICP tokens. It also shows your balances and transaction history.

Stake ICP

The NNS dApp allows you to stake your ICP in neurons so that you can earn rewards by staking your tokens.

Governance

Participating in the Internet Computer’s governance is possible by staking ICP in Neurons.

Create Canisters

Canisters are computational units on the IC (a form of smart contracts). They are powered by converting ICP into “cycles”
